Belgian feature film Tremor – Es is Immer Krieg is the best film at IV Fronteira Festival

The prizes were delivered by the Official Jury, Young Jury, and Popular Jury

Annik Leroy’s Tremor – Es is immer Krieg (Bélgica, 2017, 92 min), received the main prize delivered by the official jury for the best Feature Length Film at the IV Fronteira – International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival. Babylon (Philippines, 2017, 20 min), directed by the philippine filmmaker Keith Deligero received the prize for the best short film. The Brazilian feature Eu Sou o Rio (Brazil, 2017, 78 min), directed by Anne & Gabraz and Rosa (USA, 2018, 17 min), directed by Saif Alsaegh received the Special Jury Prize. The jury also awarded the Brazilian short film Travessia (Brazil, 2017, 5 min), directed by Safira Moreira, with a honorable mention. The jury was composed by Amaranta César, film researcher and teacher from the Federal University of Recôncavo Baiano; Stephen Broomer, Canadian filmmaker and preservationist; and Hernani Heffner, researcher, preservationist and director the Cinemathéque of the Modern Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro.

The IV Fronteira happened during 12 and 21 april, developed by Barroca Filmes, with resources from the National Cultural Fund, presented by the Audiovisual Secretary and the Cultural Ministery of Brazil, Culture and Art Fund of Goiás, SEDUCE and Goiás Government.

Best films for the Young Jury – the jury composed by four young cinema and audiovisual students from the Federal Institute of Goiás (Katsuya Harada e Marcos Paulo) and the Estate University of Goiás (Bárbara Santana e Bruna Chamelet). The students delivered the prizes for the brazilian feature film Era Uma Vez Brasília (Brazil, 2017, 99 min), directed by Adirley Queirós, and the short film Babylon (Philippines, 2017, 20 min), from Keith Deligero.

Public’s Choice – the audience present at the IV Fronteira have also chosen their best films. The feature film Era Uma Vez Brasília, directed by Adirley Queirós and the short film Polte/Flame (Finland, 2018, 15 min), directed by finnish filmmaker Sami Van Ingen received the audience jury prize.
